Our Professional Audio Systems Mean High Quality, Reliable Sound

Our standard sound systems include self-powered Mackie speakers and QSC Powerlite amplifiers. We vary our speakers depending on the size of the event, but generally use either Mackie 350's, 450's or Ramsa 500 series (and occasionally Peavey series for secondary set-ups and remote speakers). We upgrade with subwoofers when necessary at no extra charge. The need for subwoofers often varies on the size of the crowd or room and the style of music you choose that may need a little more "oompf." Remember, volume is different than clean, quality sound.

We provide music in both CD & MP3 formats. We use professional grade Denon dual CD players that also play MP3's. We also use professional, high-end laptops with DJ mixing software. It depends on the occasion. Remember, CD quality is generally superior to MP3.

We mostly use high-end Rane mixers. For wireless microphones, we use pro-grade Shure units with multiple channel capabilities to avoid interference from military bases, marine radio and videographer wireless units. We will provide two microphones, one wireless, for each event.

We help with many ceremonies in various capacities. We mix and match the audio equipment to suit our clients' different sound and microphone needs. We can provide a battery-operated Anchor microphone system, complete with a wireless lavalier microphone (lapel-like as you see on TV). We can assure your minister or vows are heard and even provide a separate microphone for a reader or singer. In the past, we have equipped this Anchor system with an MP3 player for music for a very simple/quick ceremony at a location without power. If your ceremony music calls for more sophisticated mixing or variation, say pre-ceremony music, various choices for a processional and recessional or music during the ceremony, we will provide a complete sound system. We've even mic'd live musicians.

On some occasions, a reception site may call for special equipment needs and set-ups. We will review this very carefully with you, the hall and/or the caterer, to make sure all bases are covered for your sound needs prior to the event. Perhaps you need a speaker snaked into another room or out to a patio. Perhaps you need it at a lower volume as background for a particular area. If you have a large function, say 400, 600, 1000 people...you'll definitely want some sound re-enforcement. We can accommodate any size group or facility.

All of our gear is professionally encased in carpeted cases. We make sure each set is clean and professional looking at all times. All wiring is properly taped down. All equipment bags or cases are stored out of sight. We set each system prior to your event starting and definitely before guests arrive. We perform a sound check prior to each performance. We are totally self sufficient for each set - all we need is power.

One issue we are constantly asked about is back-up equipment. While we never need it (knock on wood), we carry back-up amps and back-up CD/MP3 players to every event. We also bring spare cables, speaker wires, 9 volt batteries and assorted gear. Our equipment is high-end, professional grade sound gear. The equipment is routinely serviced and regularly updated. We're even prepared for "unheard-of" emergencies. We remember several years ago during a southern California electric blackout when we rushed to a rental shop, rented a gas powered generator and saved an outdoor wedding!

Technology is another issue we are often asked about. The technology and means with which we perform our craft is ever-evolving. Remember, whether you use a laptop, iPod, CD player or "cut it up" on some turntables, these are just the tools of our trade. (We use CD's and MP3's.) The new technology may just make the DJ's job a little easier, but not necessarily the quality of his or her performance as a professional emcee and DJ any better. Regardless of the medium, there is still a need for back-up. You should hire a DJ based on their professionalism, experience, organization, announcing capabilities and personality, not because of the tools he or she uses.

Lighting, monograms, special effects, video or DVD projection or slide shows, karaoke, props and prizes are other things we occasionally receive inquiries about. We are always concerned with the ambiance of each event we perform at. It is our experience that a wedding is an elegant affair that turns into a fun party. It's up to you what bells and whistles you want to accent your special day with. Not everyone wants lighting for their wedding!

Lighting is an accessory. You can add to the room with uplighting for pillars, tables, unique sections of the room, the cake or the sweetheart table. You can spotlight the Bride & Groom or the cake. You could add a club-like feel once dancing starts. We can do almost anything you have seen in the clubs, however, fog or smoke may be restricted at your hotel or facility (check on this). A kid's 13th birthday party and/or a company holiday party are very different than a wedding. Remember that!
